The series draws inspiration from a viral segment on Eli's ESPN series 'Eli's Places' and is executive produced by Peyton and Eli Manning. The six-episode series stars Glen Powell as Russ Holliday, a hotshot college quarterback who made an unforgivable mistake. Eight years later, and inspired by Mrs. Doubtfire of all things, he tries to reignite his football dreams by posing as a different quarterback named Chad Powers, and walking onto the South Georgia Catfish, a struggling football team. In the trailer, seen in the video player above, Powell as Powers is seen impressing the South Georgia coach, played by Steve Zahn, but having some technical difficulties with his disguise!
Powell's Powers also comes to the realization that "Russ was an a-hole, Chad doesn't have to be." Executive produced by NFL greats Peyton and Eli Manning, the series is inspired by a viral video from Eli's unscripted ESPN series, "Eli's Places," where he created Chad Powers to go undercover at Penn State's open football tryouts. The film also stars Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager and Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny.
