"The second season of Fallout hasn't premiered quite yet, but that's not stopping the creative team behind the show from planning for Season 3. In fact, they're aiming to start shooting in Summer 2026 and "get back on the air in a reasonable amount of time," according to executive producer Jonathan Nolan. Speaking with IGN, Nolan was asked about Fallout Season 3, as Season 2 debuts December 17 on Prime Video."
"Nolan believes with the talent of the cast and crew--giving special mention to creators Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner--they'll "work quickly enough to get back on the air in a reasonable amount of time." Until then, Fallout Season 2 will release episodes weekly through early February. This is a major change from the first season, when all episodes dropped at once."
"Fallout Season 2 is coming out more than a year and a half after Season 1. That timeline is roughly in line with HBO's Westworld, a show Nolan co-created and executive produced. He also has experience working on a quicker schedule with Person of Interest on CBS, another series he created. "I think what's happened with television in terms of taking longer and longer from season to season is kind of an unfortunate trend," said Nolan."
Production planning for Fallout includes a target to begin shooting Season 3 in Summer 2026 with the goal of returning to air in a reasonable timeframe. Season 2 debuts December 17 on Prime Video and will release episodes weekly through early February, shifting from the full-season drop used for Season 1. The Season 2 release occurs more than a year and a half after Season 1, a timeline compared to Nolan’s work on Westworld and Person of Interest. Bethesda invited Obsidian to set; Fallout: New Vegas will play a prominent role as Lucy searches for her father alongside The Ghoul.
