Doctor Who legend doesn't think Billie Piper is new Doctor: 'She's someone else!'
""I don't have a clue, but I suspect it's a load of old malarky," he said."
""I think they didn't know what to say, so they did that," Baker continued. "I think there will be something involving Billie Piper, but she's not the Doctor, who can she be? She's someone else! It's like me being the Master. Well, I could be, I suppose.""
""I suppose she could be a lookalike, but they could come up with anything, and that is the joy of the series. You can do anything with it, so if they choose to do it, they could.""
""Rest assured, Doctor Who is going nowhere.""
Colin Baker, who portrayed the Sixth Doctor from 1984 to 1986, dismissed rumours that Billie Piper will be the Doctor as "a load of old malarky" after speaking to the Oxford Mail. Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor regenerated into Rose Tyler at the end of the last season, prompting surprise. Baker suggested Piper could appear in some capacity without actually being the Doctor, perhaps as a lookalike or a different character, and noted the series' flexibility. He named his daughter Rosie as a potential choice for the role. BBC chief content officer Kate Phillips said Doctor Who is "going nowhere."
