Devil May Cry Season 2 will premiere on Netflix in 2026. Vergil joins the anime-inspired universe, creating direct conflict with Dante. Dante's abilities progress across the season, showcasing more iconic combat and clear character development as he learns and grows rather than remaining invincible. The storyline continues the brewing war between humanity and the demon realm, inheriting geopolitical echoes from the first season. The trailer highlights Lady, the US military force DARKCOM operating against the demon realm, and several stylish action sequences. The first four games are available on GOG through a Game Preservation Program, and Season 1 earned praise for embracing game tone and expanding franchise lore.
"His skills improve and you'll see him embrace more of the iconic badassery fans of the game expect," Shankar said. "That said, I'm still telling a story, and great characters don't just win--they grow. What makes Dante compelling isn't that he's unstoppable--it's that he learns and keeps getting stronger."
"By fully embracing the devil-may-care appeal of the video games, amping up the series' irreverent tone, and making meaningful contributions to the lore of the franchise, Dante's latest adventure makes one hell of a first impression," we wrote in our Devil May Cry: Season 1 review.
