""backbone and moral compass I need sometimes""
Kelly Ripa celebrated her 25th anniversary episode of Live with surprise visits from family and friends, including her children and longtime friend David Muir. David Muir visited the set and revealed a dinner tradition at Kelly and Mark Consuelos' Upper East Side home in which he begins the meal by saying, "Tonight from the Upper East Side," nodding to his World News Tonight catchphrase. Muir has co-hosted Live multiple times over two decades and described Kelly's calming, encouraging pre-show presence. Kelly acknowledged Muir in her book Live Wire, calling him the "backbone and moral compass I need sometimes."
