"LOS ANGELES -- Things went crazy in the ballroom this week, with a semifinal round filled with music, dance and "purple" in tribute to Prince on week 10 of "Dancing with the Stars." The night ended with a shocking elimination of one of the show's most consistent, high-scoring couples. "Each of the remaining six couples performed twice to some of Prince's most iconic hits: Social media personality Alix Earle and partner Val Chmerkovskiy performed an Argentine Tango to "Little Red Corvette" and a Viennese Waltz to "Purple Rain." Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin and partner Witney Carson performed a Jive to "Baby I'm a Star" and a Viennese Waltz to "WOW.""
The Dancing with the Stars semifinals in Los Angeles featured a Prince tribute with music, dance and 'purple.' Six remaining couples each performed two dances to Prince hits, including Argentine Tango, Viennese Waltz, Jive, Cha Cha, Tango, Foxtrot and Paso Doble. Competitors included Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy; Robert Irwin and Witney Carson; Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas; Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach; Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten; and Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa. Combined judges' scores placed Robert Irwin and Witney Carson highest with 59 of 60, Alix Earle and Whitney Leavitt at 58, Elaine Hendrix and Jordan Chiles at 57, and Dylan Efron at 55. The night ended with a shocking elimination of one high-scoring couple.
