Bill Nye received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony unveiling the plaque. He transitioned from an engineer at Boeing to hosting the Emmy-winning television series Bill Nye the Science Guy, which popularized science and math for many viewers. Nye described his work as the celebration of the "PB & J"—the passion, beauty and joy of science—and urged change. Attendees included Joel McHale, NBA star Jaylen Brown, and comedian Ross Shafer. Since 2010, Nye has served as CEO of The Planetary Society.
