"That's one of the fun aspects of 'Scrubs,' is that we play everything real in the hospital, but then J.D. has these wonderful elaborate fantasies. That was just an idea that came out of the writers' room, and it was so funny. We got into these elaborate muscle suits, which were quite an ordeal to get on and off."
"It's just the most amazing crew of people that came together to make all that happen. Back in the day, we were always like, 'Can I do my own stunts? And how much of my own stunts can I get to do?' So I think we all came in with that energy, and now it's like, 'Oh, my back! I don't know. Can I do that?'"
The Scrubs revival on ABC showcases the show's signature fantasy sequences, where J.D.'s character experiences elaborate daydreams contrasting with realistic hospital settings. Recent episodes include creative scenarios like a wrestling match between J.D. and Elliot in full wrestling attire. The cast credits the stunts team and rigging crew for executing these complex sequences. The actors note differences between performing stunts now versus 15 years ago, with physical limitations becoming more apparent. The series airs Wednesdays on ABC and streams on Hulu.
