'Alien: Earth' Season 1 Ending Explained: Will The Sci-Fi Show Solve Its Huge Xenomorph Mystery?
"In the final moments of Season 1, Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and her hybrid compatriots are officially on top, and they've got more muscle than Prodigy or Weyland-Yutani put together. The question of who is in control at the end of the episode, at least in the Prodigy compound, is clear. And, so, when the inevitable Alien: Earth Season 2 shows up, there's plenty of new conflict and certainly new character dynamics to explore."
"Somewhat surprisingly, Alien: Earth's final episode doesn't end in a bloodbath some might have expected. While some minor characters are slain, perhaps the true twist of the episode is that most of the main characters are all alive. The final episode also provides some nice fake-outs; we think the eyeball alien is going to implant itself into Hermit, but then he escapes. We also briefly think that Morrow (Ceesay), the cyborg, and Kirsh (Timothy Olyphant), the android, will destroy each other."
Wendy and her hybrid allies seize control of the Prodigy compound, outmatching Prodigy and Weyland-Yutani forces. Most major characters survive the finale despite expectations of a massacre, with several fake-outs—an eyeball alien that fails to implant in Hermit, and Morrow and Kirsh avoiding mutual destruction. The xenomorph under Wendy's influence does not kill Boy Kavalier. The ending creates immediate questions about who controls the aliens and what Wendy will do with Boy, Morrow, and others. The outcome sets up new character dynamics and conflicts for a potential Season 2 while leaving Weyland-Yutani's goals unresolved.
