A stay in the 89-year-old shell of what was once California's most lavish hotel
"After a visit to the now-drained first-class swimming pool where the spirit of a little girl supposedly resided and a vortex to another realm swirled in a nearby changing area, the crew headed to Room B340. Their so-called ghost guide said it had been removed from the list of 347 available staterooms after guests who previously spent the night there reported being awakened by someone - or something - pulling the covers off their bed."
"Hosts Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson immediately knew what they had to do: set up a camcorder in front of the bed and see if it caught anything. Hours into their overnight investigation, they returned to find the comforter disheveled. They quickly reviewed the grainy black-and-white footage, and sure enough, it appeared as if the bedding moved on its own."
"At first, everyone was giddy with excitement. A little zooming and enhancing later, however, they realized something was up. The movement of the bedding looked odd, almost glitchy, as if someone had paused the camera for a moment and then allowed it to record again. Upon closer inspection, they discovered a small door in the back of the room that could have easily allowed someone to walk in and tamper with the footage."
In summer 2005, the Ghost Hunters team traveled from Rhode Island to investigate the allegedly haunted Queen Mary in Long Beach. The crew investigated the drained first-class pool, a nearby changing area with a reported vortex, and Room B340, a stateroom allegedly removed from service after guests reported covers being pulled from their bed. Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson set a camcorder to record the bed overnight. Footage later showed the comforter disheveled, and enhanced review appeared to show the bedding moving on its own. Closer analysis revealed glitchy motion and a small back door that permitted entry, indicating the footage had been staged.
