A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Brings Some Humor to Westeros
"reminding us that Westeros deserves a laugh or two from an unlikely hero. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, based on George R.R. Martin's novellas Tales of Dunk and Egg, just dropped its final trailer, where we meet Ser Duncan the Tall, a.k.a. Dunk (Peter Claffey), a farmer and former squire who dreams of being a knight, even if he can't find his way around a castle."
"After the death of his mentor, Ser Arlan of Pennytree, Dunk travels to Westeros to compete in the tourney and even finds his own squire, a boy he met on his journey named Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). "If I could call myself a champion, some great house might take me into its service," Dunk says. "Perhaps even House Targaryen." Like clockwork, the moment the Iron Throne, holding Targaryens, enters the picture,"
HBO is releasing A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a lighter, goofier Game of Thrones spin-off based on George R.R. Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg. The series follows Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey), a farmer and former squire who dreams of becoming a knight despite being unfamiliar with castles. After his mentor Ser Arlan of Pennytree dies, Dunk travels to Westeros to compete in a tourney and acquires a young squire named Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). Dunk hopes success might win him service with a great house, perhaps even House Targaryen. The first episode premieres January 18 on HBO and HBO Max, with new weekly episodes.
