Telstra released Camara network APIs to Aduna Global, making it the first Australian telco on the global platform. Aduna Global is a joint venture of major operators and Ericsson that unifies network APIs under a Camara-based platform driven by the GSMA and the Linux Foundation. The unified platform standardises network APIs to foster collaboration, enhance user experiences and drive industry growth. The initial Australian launch includes Number Verification and SIM Swap APIs designed to help prevent account takeovers, safeguard sensitive information and reduce user friction. Number Verification checks that a phone number and device match an account and operates with lower interception risk than SMS OTP.
