Nothing Phone (3) will have 7 years of software support

Nothing has officially confirmed the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 as the processor powering the upcoming Nothing Phone (3), highlighting substantial performance enhancements over its predecessor. Co-founder Akis Evangelidis noted an impressive 88% GPU speed increase, a 33% boost in CPU speed, and a remarkable 125% improvement in NPU performance. Additionally, the new chipset enables extended software support, offering five years of major OS updates and seven years of security patches, a leap from the Phone (2)'s 3-year OS and 4-year security lifecycle. The Phone (3) is set for release in July.
When asked why the company didn't choose another SoC, Evangelidis said the new chip will clear the path to better software support - "5 & 7" instead of "4 & 4".
