"LinkedIn is trying to help put a stop to recruitment scams by requiring anyone with a recruitment-related job title to verify their place of employment. Executives will have to go through the same process, while company page verification is now rolling out more widely too. Existing recruiters won't need to go through verification immediately, but anyone who adds or updates their job title to something related to recruitment, such as "Recruiter" or "Talent Acquisition Specialist," will need to verify themselves."
"Verification is free, and the simplest form only involves proving that you have a company email address. Oscar Rodriguez, LinkedIn's vice-president of trust, wrote that the change "helps job-seekers identify legitimate recruiters and avoid scams." LinkedIn already offers Verified recruiter labels, available to anyone with a paid LinkedIn recruiter license. Executives will have to undergo the same process, with mandatory verification for job titles including "Executive Director" and "Vice President." LinkedIn is also allowing more companies to verify their official pages on the platform."
LinkedIn requires verification for users who hold recruitment-related job titles and extends the same requirement to executives. Existing recruiters are not immediately required to verify, but users who add or update recruitment-related titles must complete verification. The basic verification method is free and typically involves proving ownership of a company email address. LinkedIn already provides Verified recruiter labels for paid recruiter-license users. Company page verification is expanding to Premium company pages. Verification launched in 2023, with more than 80 million users verified, and third-party platforms can display "Verified on LinkedIn" badges.
