Microsoft released a patch on Sept. 18 that fixes a glitch between facial recognition and integrated cameras on Windows 11 PCs. The bug prevented Windows Hello facial scans in the Camera app and any app or device relying on the integrated camera. Affected PCs were placed on a block list and could not receive the Windows 11 24H2 update. With the safeguard removed, eligible devices without other holds should now be offered 24H2 via Windows Update within 48 hours. Users can check Settings > Windows Update and restart devices to prompt the update.
