By 2030, hyperscale operators like AWS, Microsoft, and Google are projected to hold 61% of global datacenter capacity, bolstered by surging cloud service demand and a rise in artificial intelligence applications. While on-prem deployment is also expanding, driven by investments in GPU servers, it is no match for hyperscale growth, which will increase capacity ninefold. Presently, hyperscalers constitute 44% of worldwide capacity, with half of that owned by the firms themselves, a trend expected to continue into the next decade.
"Hyperscale operators are expected to account for 61 percent of all datacenter capacity by 2030, driven by cloud services and AI demand."
"The on-prem share is estimated to shrink to 22 percent, while hyperscale firms are on track to expand their presence by nine times."
