Google's Gemini AI will use what it knows about you from Gmail, Search, and YouTube
"This isn't the first time Google has introduced some form of personalization with its AI chatbot; in September 2023, when Gemini was still called Bard, Google announced a way for it to connect to Google's apps and services to be able to retrieve information based on what's stored in your account. Gemini can also already recall past conversations. But the big change with Personal Intelligence is that it can reason across the information from your Google account,"
"Google's Gemini AI is getting what could prove to be a very big upgrade: To help answers from Gemini be more personalized, the company is going to let you connect the chatbot to Gmail, Google Photos, Search, and your YouTube history to provide what Google is calling "Personal Intelligence.""
"With Personal Intelligence, Gemini can give you more personalized answers to your questions, though it requires you to opt in."
Google's Gemini can connect to Gmail, Google Photos, Search, and YouTube history through a new Personal Intelligence feature that requires opt-in. Personal Intelligence lets Gemini reason across information stored in a Google account, enabling the chatbot to pull details from emails and photos without requiring a user to fetch from specific apps. Gemini can recall past conversations and previously supported connections to Google apps and services for retrieving account-stored information. The Personal Intelligence capability is powered by Google's Gemini 3 AI models and aims to make answers more personalized by using account data.
