Stewart Brand founded the Whole Earth Catalog and co-founded The Long Now Foundation, The Well and Revive & Restore. He authored The Media Lab: Inventing the Future at MIT, How Buildings Learn, The Clock of the Long Now: Time and Responsibility and II Cybernetic Frontiers, with Maintenance: Of Everything forthcoming. Brand inspired hippies and coders, including Steve Jobs, and influenced technological and cultural developments through advocacy, publishing and public talks.
