Fanuc partners with Google to bring Gemini AI and Intrinsic platform to 1.1 million industrial robots

The integration aims to give deployed robots the ability to understand human instructions, recognize objects, and coordinate autonomously. Intrinsic previously developed Flowstate, a web-based platform that lets manufacturers build robotic applications without writing thousands of lines of code. Flowstate supports motion planning, machine learning integration, and task orchestration across different manufacturers’ hardware. This enables factories to swap robot arms from multiple vendors while keeping the same Intrinsic-powered software running operations. The partnership is framed as a software platform strategy similar to Android’s role across phone manufacturers.
