Cloudflare outage takes down parts of the internet including X for some users
"Cloudflare said via its status page that it was experiencing an "internal service degradation" at 6:48 am ET. About 30 minutes later, it said that some services were recovering, but "customers may continue to observe higher-than-normal error rates as we continue remediation efforts." At 7:37 am ET, the company said it's "continuing to investigate this issue." Cloudflare, X, and OpenAI could not immediately be reached for comment."
"The outage came around the same time as scheduled maintenance was taking place at data centers in several locations, including Atlanta and Los Angeles, according to Cloudflare's status page. Cloudflare provides technology to help protect websites against hackers and fake traffic, and to make web pages faster. It is used by millions of websites globally, which means when it goes down, it affects a big portion of the internet."
"Downdetector, a site that tracks website outages, was also briefly down early Tuesday morning. It showed that users were also reporting outages at OpenAI and Grindr. Business Insider was unable to replicate any disruption on ChatGPT. Business Insider found that some sites, including X, were sporadically back online as of around 8 a.m. ET, although some were loading slowly."
