VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF9) is positioned as the central product and the foundation for an all-in private cloud solution. Hundreds of SKUs have been reduced and confusing naming and project proliferation have been removed. The strategy targets higher mid-range and enterprise organizations, leaving smaller organizations to consider alternatives. The acquisition caused notable commotion among European small and medium-sized businesses, though many organizations appear to have accepted the new direction. Event consolidation moved VMware Explore from Barcelona to Las Vegas.
