Anysphere is acquiring code review startup Graphite in a deal that uses a mixture of cash and equity. Graphite will continue operating as an independent product while integrating more deeply into Cursor's code editing platform, with the transaction expected to close in the coming weeks. The acquisition targets a growing bottleneck in code review as AI accelerates code writing, combining Cursor's AI-assisted code-writing features with Graphite's code-review capabilities to improve review speed and accuracy and enable a more complete end-to-end developer workflow. Graphite counts customers such as Shopify, Snowflake, and Figma.
