Cisco acquires translation startup EzDubs | TechCrunch
"The EzDubs team will join Cisco Collaboration, working side-by-side with our product, engineering, and go-to-market teams. Together, we will chart a new course for the industry, one where AI doesn't just support collaboration, but truly empowers it," Snorre Kjesbu, SVP of Collaboration at Cisco, said in the post."
""From launching the world's first video dubbing tool that garnered millions of views"
Cisco acquired EzDubs, a Y Combinator-backed consumer startup that provides real-time translation services, for an undisclosed amount. EzDubs was founded in 2023 by Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy, Amrutavarsh Kinagi, and Kareem Nassar, who previously worked in Cisco's Speech AI group. The startup raised $4.2 million in seed funding led by Venture Highway with participation from investors including Replit executives and Qasar Younis. Cisco intends to integrate EzDubs technology into Cisco Collaboration hardware and software, enabling live translation that preserves the speaker's original voice and potentially exposing the capability to partners and developers. EzDubs will sunset its consumer apps by December 15.
