On Wednesday, India, Poland, and Hungary launched their first astronauts in over 40 years, embarking on a private mission to the International Space Station. Organized by Axiom Space, the mission featured a ticket price exceeding $65 million per astronaut and included America's seasoned astronaut Peggy Whitson. The diverse crew, representing their countries, carried cultural foods alongside experiments. This historic launch marks a significant step for these nations in international space cooperation, reflecting their ambitions and achievements in space exploration.
"For such a small country as Hungary, it is really important to collaborate in a peaceful international space cooperation," Farkas told The Associated Press.
The astronauts are due to arrive at the orbiting lab the next morning, carrying not only experiments but also food that celebrates their heritage.
