Ari Borod settles Fanatics lawsuit, joining Polymarket officially
""As Polymarket continues to expand its global footprint, the mandate is clear: build partnerships that help bring prediction markets to the center of how fans experience the game. Scaling this category the right way is just as important as scaling it quickly. "Excited to partner with Shayne Coplan and the team to help drive the next phase of growth.""
""this meritless action" brought "to punish Defendant Aron Borod ... for doing what he had every right to do: leave his employment ... for a senior role at non-party Blockratize, Inc. d/b/a Polymarket.""
Aron Borod joined Polymarket as president of its sports business development division on February 19. He called for building partnerships to bring prediction markets to the center of fan experiences and emphasized scaling the category correctly as well as quickly. Fanatics filed suit in Florida seeking temporary and preliminary injunctions to block the move, arguing restrictive covenants in Borod's employment contract prohibited the new role. He previously joined Fanatics in July 2021 and later became chief business officer. He offered to assist with a transition and characterized the lawsuit as a meritless attempt to punish him for leaving for a senior role at Polymarket.
