Windows 11 24H2 standardizes its scripting engine
Briefly

Starting with Windows 11 version 24H2, the JScript9Legacy engine replaces the classic JScript engine by default. This change enhances user security and marks the definitive discontinuation of JScript, a technology present since 1996. JScript9Legacy is designed with strict security and modern web standards. It offers improved protection against vulnerabilities like XSS, as well as better performance. Users will not need to adjust their workflows, and support for compatibility issues will be available. JScript, now obsolete, no longer meets current JavaScript standards and was kept primarily for backward compatibility.
