Linux Foundation is developing a DNS system for AI agents

DNS-AID is an open-source project that enables AI agents to communicate with and discover one another through a standardized mechanism. It uses the existing Domain Name System as a decentralized directory for publishing and locating AI agents and Model Context Protocol servers. The project addresses the lack of uniform infrastructure for agent identification and access, which is often handled through centralized registration or fixed URL configurations.
