Linus Torvalds forgot to release Linux 6.14 for a day
Briefly

Linus Torvalds, the leader of Linux kernel development, acknowledged his mistake in not releasing version 6.14 on schedule, describing it as 'pure incompetence.' Traditionally, he posts release updates on Sundays, but his recent post on March 16 hinted at a delay without the follow-up expected a week later. Torvalds reflected on the absence of an important excuse for the oversight, emphasizing that this minor delay is not a concern given his extensive history of successful releases and the lack of urgent demands for the latest version. The upcoming release includes relevant updates for driver support and vulnerability fixes.
I'd love to have some good excuse for why I didn't do the 6.14 release yesterday on my regular Sunday afternoon release schedule... But no. It's just pure incompetence.
Because absolutely nothing last-minute happened yesterday, and I was just clearing up some unrelated things... and in the process just entirely forgot to actually ever cut the release.
