"KDE Plasma 6.6 is upon us. Feb. 17 is the official release date, and there's plenty to be excited about. We'll be getting improvements for displays, UI, security, and more. Certain default apps are being switched out, and there'll be the usual bug fixes and performance improvements. All-in-all, 6.6 is looking to be a rather exciting release. I've written about it, and now I've tested it by using the KDE Neon Unstable edition."
"I don't usually suggest using alpha or beta versions of Linux distributions, but in this case, the Unstable edition is one of the easiest ways of seeing 6.6 in action. And it's worth it. I spun up a virtual machine, using KVM/Virt-Manager. It took me three tries to get it working because I kept forgetting to switch from BIOS to UEFI. After that facepalm moment, I had Neon Unstable up and running, and, oh my, how sweet it is."
KDE Plasma 6.6 is scheduled for release on Feb. 17 and includes improvements for displays, the user interface, security, and overall performance. Certain default applications will be replaced and routine bug fixes and optimizations will be applied. KDE Neon Unstable provides an early preview of Plasma 6.6 and can be run in a virtual machine using KVM/Virt-Manager. Initial setup may require multiple attempts when switching firmware configuration from BIOS to UEFI. System upgrades in the Unstable build may require a reboot to apply updates. Animations and UI transitions appear notably smooth. The expected new KDM Login Manager is not present, and SDDM remains in use.
