Radisson Hotel Group migrated from a legacy SAP system to a more modern platform while using pandemic hotel closures to refresh enterprise IT. The company updated its SAP systems remotely to be ready for post-pandemic operations. Geopolitical disruption forced the sale of the US business, and Choice Hotels International acquired Radisson Hotels Americas for approximately $675m in 2022. The forced separation required understanding the US setup to rebuild the SAP-based enterprise system, but NSA oversight prevented normal information sharing and restricted access to the US IT configuration, complicating the migration effort.
