"OpenAI is updating ChatGPT Atlas with vertical tabs that make it look a bit like the Arc browser. Now, instead of opening a new tab at the top of the AI-powered browser, you can change your tab style to access them within a left-hand sidebar. Similar to Arc, you can resize the sidebar on ChatGPT Atlas, as well as reorder your tabs."
"Along with this change, you can now set Google as your default search engine, which makes sense since using the browser sometimes feels like Googling with extra steps. Otherwise, ChatGPT Atlas will present you with around 10 relevant sources it found across the web, with a link to Google Search results in the top-right corner of the screen. Some other updates include the ability to select and drag multiple tabs by holding down Command or Shift and clicking."
ChatGPT Atlas now offers vertical tabs in a left-hand sidebar that can be resized and reordered, with the address bar remaining at the top. Users can enable vertical tabs via the address bar context menu under "Tab Style." Google can be set as the default search engine, and Atlas surfaces about ten relevant web sources with a Google Search link in the top-right corner. Additional features include multi-tab selection and dragging using Command or Shift, extension import for new downloads, an improved downloads interface, and support for iCloud keychain passkeys. Atlas launched on macOS last month and accepts URLs or questions answered by ChatGPT. Full change details are available on OpenAI's website.
