Francoise Kesteman, a French nurse, worked in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, seeing the expulsion of Palestinians as an injustice. She joined armed groups resisting Israeli occupation. Franco Fontana, an Italian photographer, co-founded a Marxist-Leninist group and organized exhibitions to promote the Palestinian cause.
