Tamara Rowe was fatally stabbed in her Wakefield home and succumbed to injuries at a hospital. Her cousin Lotanya Datton spoke about the family's sense of shock and loss during this tragic time, emphasizing the importance of speaking up about abusive situations. Neighbors noted they were unaware of any issues between Rowe and her partner, who is the father of her two young children. The family is considering starting a foundation in Rowe's honor to support women in crisis.
"We hear about situations like this, but when it reaches our doorstep, it is very hard for us to accept," said her cousin, Lotanya Datton.
"We want women to know that if you ever find yourself in situations like this to always speak up," said Datton.
"She's always smiling. She's like a flower. If it's dried up and she passes, everything's light up. She's always the life of the party. Tamara we really miss you. And we are all very broken. We are broken beyond words," said Rowe.
