Iman Abdul, a youth organizer, was arrested for urging her followers to attack Leon M. Goldstein High School, which has Jewish students. She posted a Google Maps screenshot with a caption encouraging violence against people she labeled as "Israhell loving Zionists." Charged with making terroristic threats and aggravated harassment, Abdul's actions alarmed Jewish advocates who emphasized the dangers of antisemitism. Authorities, including the NYPD and Jewish community leaders, expressed outrage and concern over the potential for violence against the Jewish community in schools.
A map. A pin. A call to harm Jews, fellow New Yorkers, children, teachers. This isn't just dangerous. It's evil. Jew-hatred doesn't stop with a threat. It escalates.
I am outraged and horrified that a NYC school was publicly marked for attack simply because of its Jewish population.
