Hawk and Chivona Newsome of Black Lives Matter Greater New York protested outside Attorney General Letitia James' office, demanding a maximum sentence for convicted NYPD Sgt. Erik Duran. Activists expressed frustration over the Attorney General's recommendation of a 3 to 9-year prison term for Duran, questioning the leniency of the sentence for a killing.
