""testimony to the legacy of this powerhouse of good who swept into so many lives""
""real loss and grief" but also "filled with the hope that burned in the heart of Sister Stan her whole life""
""was to provide the best way possible for those who are needy, sick, destitute, and heart sore""
""After all those years looking out for others, this old heart has finally learned to look after itself, each act of kindness a stitch in the warm blanket that now covers you.""
Father Richard Hendrick led the funeral service at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook, Dublin 4. The charity and social justice organisations founded by Sister Stan will remain as a testimony to her legacy and impact on many lives. The funeral mass combined real loss and grief with the enduring hope that burned in Sister Stan's heart throughout her life. Sister Stan planned much of her funeral and had definite ideas about how to celebrate her passing. The Focus Ireland founder's purpose was to provide the best way possible for those who are needy, sick, destitute, and heart sore, and much of that work was achieved alongside countless private acts of help. Family tributes described a formidable, stubborn, and determined woman who disliked hearing the word "no."
