"The 48 teams have been divided into four pots containing 12 teams each. Pot 1 consists of the three co-hosts USA, Mexico and Canada along with the nine top teams in the current Fifa rankings. The next three pots were decided by the Fifa rankings, with the lowest-ranked qualified teams in Pot 4. The 12 groups for the World Cup will then be formed by one team from each pot (full pots listed later)."
The final draw show will be hosted at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC by Heidi Klum and Kevin Hart, with Danny Ramirez engaging football greats and live performances by Andrea Bocelli, Village People, Robbie Williams and Nicole Scherzinger. The 48 qualified teams are split into four pots of 12 teams each. Pot 1 contains the three co-hosts (USA, Mexico, Canada) plus the nine highest-ranked teams. Pots 2–4 were determined by Fifa rankings, with the lowest-ranked qualified teams placed in Pot 4. Twelve groups will be formed by drawing one team from each pot. Six qualification places remain to be decided via March playoffs, and UEFA will have 16 teams in the draw with a maximum of two European teams per group.
