Why were Livingston denied 'clear, clear penalty' against Rangers?
"For the life of me, I don't understand how it's not given in our favour," Martindale told BBC Scotland."
""It's going on target, could be a goal," Martindale continued. "I don't understand why we don't get a penalty. "I know if that incident is at Livingston, it goes against us. I know 100% that's a penalty against us. So that's a really disappointing aspect of that.""
""It's a penalty, in my opinion, and nobody'll change my mind about that.""
Rangers beat Livingston 2-1 at Ibrox thanks to Mohamed Diomande's late goal, leaving Livingston bottom of the Scottish Premiership with one victory. Emmanuel Fernandez opened the scoring with a header before Tete Yengi equalised by running behind the defence and slotting under Jack Butland. Minutes later Yengi's tame effort struck Fernandez's arm inside the box while Butland was exposed, but referee Ross Hardie did not award a penalty and VAR officials did not call him to the monitor. VAR guidance cited proximity and arm positioning as reasons not to deem a punishable handball, while replays appeared to show Fernandez's arm move towards the ball.
