The champions sit 10th, ten points behind Arsenal, with only five wins in their last 16 games. Salah claimed he was 'thrown under the bus' and was omitted from the squad for the Champions League win at Inter Milan. Midfielder Harvey Elliott joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan after starring in England U21s' European title defence and winning the Premier League. Elliott has made just five appearances for Villa and has often been left out of matchday squads. A loan clause obliges Villa to buy Elliott for 35million if he reaches ten appearances.
