The 27-year-old defender had not participated since leaving the 2022 World Cup camp for personal reasons and subsequently made himself unavailable for selection. He replaces Jarell Quansah, who is sidelined with a thigh injury. England is set to play friendlies against Uruguay and Japan at Wembley later in March 2023.
