European qualifying group stage will conclude during the November international break, filling 12 of UEFA's 16 slots while the remaining four places will be decided by play-offs. The play-offs will feature 12 group runners-up and four Nations League group winners split into four paths, with single-leg semi-finals on March 26, 2026, and one-off finals on March 31 that award the final World Cup berths.
