On to the nominees: D-Ari Bruce, Oakland basketball: Bruce scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Oakland to a 67-59 win over Oakland Tech. Oakland (15-5, 3-0) snapped a seven-game losing streak to Tech."
"Anson Hulme, Saratoga basketball: Hulme scored 19 points to lead Saratoga to a 47-46 win over Fremont-Sunnyvale. Saratoga is 11-6. James Kennedy, Washington-Fremont basketball: The freshman scored 29 points, dished out six assists, grabbed five rebounds, had three steals and blocked two shots in a 83-46 win over Newark Memorial. Washington is 13-7. Taku Nomoto, Westmont soccer: The sophomore scored a goal in Westmont's 2-1 win over Mt. Pleasant. Westmont is 5-4-3."
