Real Madrid submitted all available evidence to UEFA supporting Vinicius Jr after he alleged racial abuse by Benfica forward Gianluca Prestianni following his match-winning goal. Prestianni has denied the claim and Benfica backed him. The match was halted for eight minutes after Vinicius scored, and Vinicius approached the referee while covering his mouth with his shirt to report a racial slur.
