USWNT's Yohannes completes Lyonnes deal

Lily Yohannes, a midfielder for the United States women's national team, has signed a three-year contract with OL Lyonnes. The club, a European powerhouse with eight championships, finalized the transfer from Ajax. The transfer fee is approximately €450,000, with Ajax set to receive a percentage of any future transfer. At 18, Yohannes has eight national team caps and made her debut in June 2024, scoring within 10 minutes. Born in Virginia and raised in the Netherlands, she previously signed her first professional contract with Ajax at 15. In 2023, she became the youngest player to start a UEFA Women’s Champions League match.
Yohannes has eight caps for the USWNT and scored 10 minutes into her debut in June 2024 as a 17-year-old.
