Under-fire FIFA announces $60 World Cup tickets, for the few DW 12/17/2025
"FIFA introduced a new category of ticket prices called "Supporter Entry Tier" tickets on Tuesday, following uproar from national supporters' associations about the cost of World Cup entry for traveling fans. World football's governing body said the discounted $60 (roughly 51) tickets would be available for all 104 matches of the tournament, including the final. This is significant as original plans for final tickets foresaw no prices below $4,000 for supporters buying via their national football associations."
""In total, half of each PMA's ticket allocation will fall within the most affordable categories: 40% under the Supporter Value Tier and 10% under the new Supporter Entry Tier," FIFA said in a statement. FIFA said it would be up to individual national associations to define the eligibility criteria and application process. "They are requested to ensure that these tickets are specifically allocated to loyal fans who are closely connected to their national teams," it said."
FIFA introduced a Supporter Entry Tier of $60 tickets available for all 104 matches, including the final. Original final ticket plans had no prices below $4,000 for supporters buying via national football associations. The 2026 tournament in the US, Mexico and Canada will be the most expensive World Cup for supporters, outstripping record prices in Qatar 2022, where final tickets peaked at roughly $1,700. The Supporter Entry Tier will constitute 10% of Participating Member Association allocations. Overall, half of each PMA's allocation will fall within affordable categories: 40% Supporter Value Tier and 10% Supporter Entry Tier. National associations will define eligibility and application processes and are requested to allocate these tickets to loyal fans closely connected to their national teams.
