The Turkish Football Federation summoned 1,024 players before its disciplinary committee on betting charges, and matches in the third and fourth divisions were canceled, affecting more than 900 summoned players. Twenty-seven summoned players are from Super Lig clubs, including Galatasaray and Besiktas. Galatasaray left back Eren Elmali was dropped from the national team and said the allegation stemmed from a single bet years ago. The TFF disclosed 152 match officials allegedly bet on matches and has suspended 149 referees for eight to 12 months; the suspected referees deny the allegations.
