Tottenham have submitted a €15 million ($17.5m) bid to sign 19-year-old left-back Souza from Santos after an earlier €13m offer was rejected. Santos own 75% of the player's economic rights and Souza is under contract until December 2028. Souza has asked not to be included in Santos' squad for the Campeonato Paulista opener against Novorizontino as transfer talks progress. Tottenham seek a left-sided defensive option because Destiny Udogie is sidelined with a hamstring injury and Djed Spence has been deputising. Souza played 29 games last season, scoring once and providing two assists.
