The club are pursuing further midfield reinforcements and are targeting Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, with Manchester United also interested. Nmecha is 25, contracted to Dortmund until 2028, and could cost upwards of 60m. His 2023 move from Wolfsburg prompted criticism over past homophobic and transphobic social media posts. Dortmund inserted a contractual clause related to those past posts.
