There's nothing wrong with things being tough' Ange Postecoglou expects conversation with Evangelos Marinakis after winless seven-game Nottingham Forest start
"I expect to have a discussion with the owner and everyone else at the football club about what we've embarked on here, and where we're at, and what we need to do, an exasperated Postecoglou told journalists in his post-match press conference. But at the same time, there's nothing wrong with things being tough. That's okay. I've said in there, and I'll say it a million times, I did have an option."
"I could have been sitting on the couch watching the game today, and not be in the middle of it. The best features, fun and footballing quizzes, straight to your inbox every week. I'd rather be here, much rather be. I love a fight. So, it's a fight, so it's a struggle. So what? That's okay. And if people outside don't think I'm the right person, or even internally, it makes no difference for me."
Ange Postecoglou expects to speak with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis after suffering his fifth loss in seven games. Postecoglou was appointed less than a month ago, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, and remains winless in his first seven matches. Newcastle United won 2-0 with second-half goals from Bruno Guimaraes and Nick Woltemade, the latter from the penalty spot after Elliot Anderson conceded. Owner Evangelos Marinakis has reportedly warned he will act if results do not improve and previously confronted and later sacked the former manager. Postecoglou acknowledged the difficulty, affirmed his commitment, and said he welcomes the fight.
