The bosses in a 'really brutal' Championship
Briefly

The Championship has seen a significant turnover in coaching staff, with only Portsmouth maintaining its manager, John Mousinho. This sharp contrast is evident when compared to other leagues, such as the Premier League, where 11 of 17 teams retained their managers from the previous season. Eleven clubs in the Championship appointed new managers post-season, with six selecting coaches lacking previous experience in this division. The league's brutal nature means teams face swift consequences for any mistakes, impacting managerial stability.
Of the 18 teams that played in the Championship last season and will do so again this time around, only one has the same manager as they did in August 2024.
Portsmouth boss John Mousinho stated, 'It's a really brutal league from every aspect. If you get something wrong you get punished.'
In the Premier League, 11 of the 17 teams who started last season still have the same manager as they did in August last year.
11 of the teams in this season's Championship have got a new man at the helm but, of those, only six have gone for someone with no previous managerial experience in the second tier.
